|---|---|---|
| Harvest Hosts Classic | 1-night farm/winery stays if you leave I-10. Self-contained. No camping fee. $99 / $74.25 sale. | You stay on the interstate, need dump and power every night, or have no onboard toilet. |
| Harvest Hosts + Boondockers Welcome | Classic hosts plus private land (driveways, acreage). Same dry default. $169 / $126.75. | You need hookups. Do not invent a California or Arizona host count — check the map. |
| Passport America | About 50% off the regular nightly rate at participating parks, space available. Hookups. $49/year. Read each park’s notes. | You expected a free night or a guaranteed site. Check the directory; no official I-10 park count on this page. |
| Thousand Trails Camping Pass, Southwest | No nightly fee at Palm Springs (Palm Desert) and other verified Southwest parks — not at Collection/Encore AZ snowbird parks. 14 nights in / 7 out. $775 list / $475 promo through Aug 31, 2026. | You are driving LA–Phoenix and will not sit Palm Desert (or another verified Southwest park) 30+ nights. |
The I-10 trap: Desert + snowbird parks, not wine country and not a free Thousand Trails tunnel. Official Southwest list, Aug 30, 2026: Palm Springs (Palm Desert) is on the Camping Pass. Wilderness Lakes (Menifee) is Inland Empire. The only Arizona Southwest park is Verde Valley (Cottonwood) — north of I-10. Trails Collection / Encore parks in Yuma, Mesa, Casa Grande, Apache Junction, Tucson, plus Palm Springs Oasis (Cathedral City) and Pilot Knob (Winterhaven), are add-ons — not this pass. Some Collection parks charge $20/night. Yuma and Pilot Knob sit on I-8. Snowbirds mix the two products. 14/7 is out of the whole system, not out of one park.

The desert slog is Passport America if you need dump and power. Classic is one night at a small business — only if you leave I-10. +BW is someone’s land, not a snowbird resort. Neither is a campground. Campendium owns the dump-station list; this page is which club changes the overnight math.
Thousand Trails Southwest is not a “drive I-10 for free” pass. Buy it only if you will sit Palm Desert (or another verified Southwest park) 30+ nights under 14/7. Extra region $140. Collection / AZ snowbird parks cost extra. West of LA: I-5 California. Oregon: I-5 Oregon.
